I believe that host/bacteria relationships that are commensal or symbiotic can provide information that could potentially lead us to infectious disease treatments, prevention and this same benefit to other issues as well. The safety of the host will always be considered but the more experiments with different bacteria and other variables, the more information we gather from it. I think this is a great way to learn new things for the future of medicine if the relationships have no harm to either side, or especially if it benefits at least one of the sides.
